Ted.com videos have a lot to offer. For one reason or another I was reminded of this speech by J.J. Abrams. It’s well worth watching if you are intrigued by the way things work and not necessarily the why, or if you’re someone who remembers a scene from a movie as one of your favorites of all time while others barely notice it even happened.

Job 407 Ministries Logo

Job407

Job 407 Ministries is a startup ministry in Nashville that will connect men to a culture of masculinity and Christianity.

While pretty straightforward in design, I still sketched the logo and then transferred it to Illustrator. The desire was for a professional, clean and simple logo, and I think that’s what we got.

Quote from Albert Einstein

einstein

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Albert Einstein (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of general relativity, effecting a revolution in physics. For this achievement, Einstein is often regarded as the father of modern physics and one of the most prolific intellects in human history. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics “for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect”.

As quoted in Artist to Artist : Inspiration and Advice from Visual Artists Past & Present (1998), p. 62

Just a quick recommendation…

Not much for today, folks, other than a quick recommendation.

I don’t know if you look for other ways to be inspired or for other blogs to read that are an 11 out of 10, but I’d recommend you visit Carlos Whittaker at Ragamuffin Soul on a regular basis.

Good stuff, plain and simple.

Creativity is seeing what everyone else sees, but then thinking a new thought that has never been thought before and expressing it somehow.

Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space, and a Research Associate in the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. OldManSea

Ok, this doesn’t really qualify as a resource. But it was fun to do and if you like it and want to print – go for it.

The Old Man and the Sea was always one of my favorites.

If you have any personal requests please let me know. I’d be happy to make one for you.

Love what you do and don’t be ashamed of it.

Yes, you can laugh at him and not feel bad about it. Surely he knows and doesn’t mind. Hey, he made you laugh and he can actually play!
